Tea Filter

Have you ever wanted to make real tea? I’m not talking about those generic tea bags that you find at your local grocery store. I mean real tea leaves. There is nothing more relaxing then drinking a cup of freshly steeped tea. However, if you want to make real tea from real tea leaves, then you are going to need to use a special tea filter.

Tea filters are actually pretty simple devices to use. These are basically tiny strainers that hold the tea leaves. One end usually has an opening (think of a funnel) where you sprinkle in some tea leaves. You then place the tea filter into a cup of hot water and let it sit for a couple minutes. Once it’s done, you pull out the tea filter and your tea is ready to be used!

Now there are different kinds of tea filters you can buy. Some of the better tea filters actually come in tea mugs. These are actually very interesting devices. They are basically a mug that have a tea filter built right into the lid. When you want to brew tea, you simply pour water directly into the mug then add the tea. This is a very convenient system for brewing tea.

It’s important that you know how to brew tea. If you brew tea, you should always heat up water to the boiling point. Some people may be used to putting tea bags in the kettle while the water is boiling, but this is really a big no no. This is one way to ruin your tea. You should bring your water to a full boil, then take your tea leaves (tea leaves and not tea bags!) and put them in the pot of poling water. A half  teaspoon of tea leaves should suffice for the kettle of tea. Some people will leave the tea leaves in the pot. However, if you leave the leaves in, your tea will be pretty strong. After 5 minutes, you can remove the tea leaves if you wish. Keep in mind that you will want to use a tea pot that has a tea filter built in to strain out the tea leaves when you pour out the tea. If you don’t have a tea filter built into the pot, then the leaves will clog up the tea spout or fall into the tea mugs.

You can buy various tea filters if you look at a specialty tea shop. You might find them at your local department store, but it’s likely that you won’t. You can always look online to buy tea filters as there are specialty tea websites that sell them.
